Fees and Estimates

Your anaesthetist is happy to provide you with an estimate of fees for your procedure.   In order to obtain an estimate you will need to know:

  • The name of your Surgeon
  • Which Hospital you will be attending
  • The date of your procedure
  • The anticipated length of time your surgery will take
  • Details of your Health Fund

Please provide as much information as possible to enable us to give you the most accurate estimate available.   If you have this information click the name of your anaesthetist in the Estimates section to proceed with an estimate request.   If you are unsure of who your anaesthetist is or any of the other required information, please contact your surgeons rooms.   The estimate you receive will include what we anticipate your gap payment will be.   All estimates are valid for 60 days from the date they are provided.

Prepayments

Some procedures may require prepayment. Some procedures which will require prepayment include cosmetic surgery, uninsured patients and procedures which attract a low rebate from your Health Fund and Medicare.

Health Fund Rebates

As you may be aware the fee for your anaesthetic will most likely be above the rebates available from Medicare and your Private Health Fund. As a result, there will be a GAP payment for which you are responsible.   The gap payment depends on a number of factors including the nature of the surgery, the complexity and duration of the anaesthesia and the health fund which you are insured with.
